"You Killed
Them"
I
called upon you to give me strength,
And even the strength of Hercules or Samson
or even the Incredible Hulk
couldn’t dry my eyes long enough to see clearly,
Nearly crossing
the finish line
blind in
enough time to find,
Out why you killed them.
Some say it's because of the disservice he’s
done
to the entire world,
Some say his sons had it coming.
Coming into a new era
with cannon fire substituted for fireworks,
And bomb threats sent by children carrying
grenades,
Ready to explode onto scenes
that seem to stare into space
aimlessly,
Until one day,
I woke up in a rage,
Eyes green with anger,
Pissed off from lift off since you dipped off,
Into my wells,
Swelling thunderous storms
because you killed them both.
If I had to be the one to identify the
bodies,
I would first cry out to GOD
and ask of his or her forgiveness
for what I am about to do,
Whether my future actions agree with you
or not,
You say the American people are completely innocent.
I beg to differ.
You sit idly by with your Internet access,
Satellite TV,
Microwave ovens,
High-end automobiles,
Multi-level homes,
Remote controls,
Cellular phones,
Running water and electricity,
thinking your financial class gives you
the right
to teach economics to the rest of the world.
Worlds turned
inside out,
I see you for what you truly are,
A wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Ting passed me the L cause my highs you
keep blowin,
Maurice gave me the stealth to stay invisible
while I’m flowin,
I have seen your anti-war protests on CNN,
I see how much damage
can actually be done with a pen,
Your status has everything to do with
the skin you are wearin,
But evidently it has no bearing
on who you are swearing,
Into presidential office,
2 sons still stare at me from coffins,
So I hope you are aware of the repercussions, America.
I see your actions haven’t changed
since slavery at the start,
We are wed now,
Till death do us part?

CHILL
was born Ron Williams on the
north side of St. Louis city
but moved to North County at
the age of three, where he
grew up.
Taking an interest in writing at an early age, CHILL used his talents to
write various forms of poetry, short stories, and rap. CHILL expounded on
his talents while attending Hazelwood East High School, from where he graduated.
He then attended Southeast Missouri State University where he helped found
the Umojaankham (Unity for Life in Blackness) Organization, a fraternal order
promoting unity within the Black race. Since then, he has performed poetry
at various places around St. Louis on a regular basis.
CHILL believes that poetry is a form of expression and conveys reality in
every word. “Keeping it real” is a must, so if you don’t
like the truth—don’t open the book or the CD..
