I have to say it's long over due. I have become a fan in the worst way, and it's my mission to do a movie or some'in with y'all one day. I'm freezing my a** off up here, but I'll be back to defrost, and I hope my rental car breaks down in Tally on Thursday night. Keep up the good work. xiN .tS

Motown’s Testimony “I swear to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.” It all started about 3 years ago; I was on my way to work when I saw this sign posted on by Mount Zion that read “Poetry Contest…Thursday night.” Truly, I thought to myself, “I have nothing to lose.” So for the first time, I devoted myself to writing poetry. Unlike writing a valentine poem or an off beat song. I truly considered that to be my first time writing actual poetry. Since that point on I tired for first place, became a member of the troupe, featured in the Tallahassee Democrat, as a result became “Motown.” Back Talk, Thank you for the love and support you have provided to me throughout the past few years. I know as a fact it is a blessing from God to be affiliated with such an innovative poetry troop. Although I never considered myself as a poet, I truly have to give credit to Back Talk for releasing my poetic juices. Let the record show, if Back Talk never existed there would be no “Motown.” And the only reason “Motown” is around now is because of the family within the troupe. Solider poetics, I encourage you to stay strong and persevere through the dark and stormy trials and tribulations. It is written somewhere that “Every poet will be heard and every word shall be spoken, regardless of the matters Back Talk poetry troupe is chosen."

My Beautiful Black people...what an inspiration you all are to me and many others. I'm a little disappointed in myself for only checkin' ya'll out once while I was at FAMU. But it was a very cool night that my brother and I had the opportunity to share...and we still talk about it. So I'm grateful for that. I'm glad to see that the positivity hasn't stopped since then. Ya'll keep on steppin' and remember to keep God first in ALL that you do and everything will be alright. God Bless and remember to spread joy.

there are those who attempt to regulate the spoken word i have heard them in desguise speaking fake lines off paper then chase us down to help raise their spot WE OBLIGE committing suicide when they ask BACK TALK to POET as you would like for us to i find this lu- da-cris to miss the jist behind BACK TALK poets who done faught many hoets attempting to exploit us starting flaw ass open mic spots, doing your porno and what not and done forgot there are only so many ways you can say how you ate a gurl out or sucked a dude up so then when your audience starts to cut you expect us to jump since you so-called payed you think you gotta enough weight to regulate what we say i spit rhymes in your face for trying to handle us like tricks, we lead by example kid, that's why blackonblack stays a hit we real 'bout this shit and flip words like verbs and adjectives to address the situation in which we all live so give us some respect when you ask for our service 'cause this is not done for you, chumps, the people deserve this rhythmatic life preserver on every thursday night, for the past 4 years, so get wit that tight by far the best show that you will ever see, by far the best poets that could ever be in this day and time and that is why black on black rhymes

Also, I wanted to thank you all for your continued support of P5E, "Speech Therapy," and myself as well. (Only a visit from Hazel could make me come outta retirement). We would not be where we are today if it were not for your support and guidance over the past two years. It has definitely been a rewarding experience thus far, and I look forward to what the future holds. Be easy. Oh yeah, I almost forgot...it's still P5E FOREVER!!!!!

In the middle of the night you can hear folks that don't know talk about shows that don't grow but if they would have stayed they would have caught the play by play of each word we say when we BACKTALK instead of talking behind our backs on rhythmless mics with pantyhose and tights wrapped around their necks...muffling the foolishness they bring to the stage when they come to entertain...we come to EDUCATE with BLACKONBLACKRHYME.

I gets one, I gets two, because I am ghet-to / It's a poetic drive-by and if you don't want to die, you best get low/ because even ketchup gets caught because it moves a bit slow/ I try to get enriched but you still treat me as if I was a bit slow/ That's why I must try to get a lil' bit mo'/ So I won't get walked on like a foot and lose the power to (heel) the (sole) of the ghet(toe)/ No violence-just silence in my mind/ What's this - lyrical bliss BLACK ON BLACK RHYME (The verse that started it all) I love y'all like a poem I wrote/and if you must know why I vote\I want to make a difference in this world of words/ everyone is trying to be first but what about 2nd and 3rd/ but right behind one is always two/ so ones need to be careful on what they do\but to the ones that slip and fall when they are trying to walk / Remember who got your BACK . . . You can run/but you can´t hide/from this vibe that strikes like lightning bolts of enlightenment/excitement/is what we package produce and sell/to those that dwell on street corners/or those that reside in mansions/we be planting seed sin the mindstates of statesmen and women alike this and alike that you know/not the phat kat/but a blessed black kat you know/that crosses your path and brings good luck/awakening like a pluck of hair from the skin/our rhythyms dwell deeper within than simply skin follicles/with each breath of this pure heat you breathe/we dive deep/into your soul/like moles hiding from the light/you crawled into Mt. "I've seen that...what we do changes lives/brings tears to eyes/because we live out our stories on stage with theatrical precision/but the mission/has only begun/see...NEW ORLEANS was only Step 1/in our effort to reach the world...but it's far from over............." What up family? Yall know that it's NOTHING but love on this end. I'll try to keep this short..but you KNOW how I am *wink* Continue to grow, develop, & cherish this gift that the 'most high' has so graciously blessed us with. I'm not sure where this life path is going to take me, but know that 'BLACK ON BLACK RHYME' will FOREVER be in my heart. All of you have touched me in a way that is nothing short of miraculous. I remember when Salaam FIRST did "Step To the Mic"......Shadow was the FIRST one I heard really on that Maxwell, 'A Woman's Work'......Ali was screaming "Fuck dem Cops!".....Blackberry rocking just a white button-up shirt for 'Black Erotica'. I'm proud to say that I've seen it all! So....keep on, keeping on & remember....THIS is a 'family business'. I love yall!
