attends Miami Dade College, majoring in Business Administration.
God~Us enjoys writing, performing poetry at local open
mic venues, and spending time with her family. She
has three beautiful sons; Rashad, Travis, and Lloyd.
She has found a new passion for spoken word...Her work
has been known to be intense and emotional. It touches
on some of the most heartfelt issues relating to relationships,
domestic violence, and interpersonal struggles.

Chapter 6: Making the Connection
Title: Out of Darkness, Must Shine Light
Here to another day in hell and I wonder why God dealt me this hand. It almost
like I was meant to fail. But not me, I am going to keep fighting. Yeah, that’s
what I’ll do keep fighting.
It started roughly twenty-one years ago, the day my life would change forever.
It was a beautiful day in November, my siblings and I played out in the yard
with our big wheels like we always did on a day like this. As the sun begin to
set, my mother prepared us for bed, as she did each and every night. However,
this night will be the last night of her life. The last time my mother would
every have a chance to be able to kiss her kids goodnight. That night I would
lose my mother to a domestic rage.
